Friends and acquaintances often wonder what is going on with my work at Faraz Khan Art Studio. I always seem to be working on something. Creativity and learning are at the core of what we do. For example, I just learned from my 4 year old when he read the numbers 140 from right to left and proudly uttered 041. My immediate reaction was ‘hey it’s 140, not 041’ I thought he was reading it backwards but then I realized he is not wrong. He simply read the numbers right to left – nothing wrong with that so I told him ‘You could also read it 140 or 041’. I want my son to be able explore and be creative without restricting him with these false limitations that chew out creativity and depth in ones thinking. In summation, that’s what we do at Faraz Khan Art Studio – we explore arts and creativity through a path less trodden using nuqta (dot) based Arabic letters, geometrical patterns, and motifs.
