Photo update: I received a Thank you card signed by students and Dana Sheridan, program director at Cotsen just days before Christmas. Thank you, Thank you!

The Cotsen Children’s Library is a very special place to my heart. About two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with Dana Sheridan and Cotsen Critix, program where we huddle around to learning Arabic calligraphy with a dozen tween. My very first calligraphy gigs were actually as a result of a program called “Princyclopedia” sponsored by Cotsen Children’s Library. The theme was the story of Aladdin. No, I didn’t dress with a turban and rolled my magical carpet that day but it was a lot of fun meeting young students who were just struck with beautiful calligraphy.

Over the years, I have learned that the library on the right side as you enter Firestone Library has many manuscripts, original artworks, rare books, and educational toys of the old world all the way from the 15th century to the present.

One of the best kept secret is that the art gallery, library and programs are open to the public free of charge. It is an amazing place with super cool whimsical themes around the reading areas. And don’t worry you have Dr. Dana Sheridan, a really caring and dedicated person guiding children’s activities at the library to make learning fun.
